MEET KEVIN

The Touch Behind K.T.

My name is Kevin Alvarenga, and my journey in home improvement began at 16, working in roofing and as a helper on renovation projects. Although I had earned scholarships and hoped to pursue civil engineering, limited family support meant I had to put those plans aside and work full time to support myself.

By 19–20, I had become a lead painter, spraying homes in Highland Park and developing the skills, patience, and attention to detail that guide my work today. Working for other companies also taught me what I wanted to do differently—from how projects were handled to the quality of the finished work and the way clients were treated.

That experience led me to start K.T. Home Improvement LLC. K.T. stands for “Kevin’s Touch,” because I wanted my name to represent the care and craftsmanship I bring to every project. My goal has always been to deliver work I’m proud to stand behind, using quality products and giving homeowners honest, dependable service.

While I don’t claim to know it all, my team and I approach every project with an open mind. We combine the skills and experience we already have with a willingness to learn, finding practical solutions to each task and working together to bring your vision to life.

Building this business hasn’t been easy. With limited resources for marketing, I’ve grown largely through word of mouth, one client and one project at a time. Every referral means someone trusted my work enough to recommend me, and that is something I never take for granted.

Today, at 26, I bring a decade of hands-on experience and the same determination that got me started. The challenges along the way shaped who I am: someone who values hard work, takes pride in the details, and keeps working to make things better.
